Fire ant dirt is used for protection. Have you ever been bitten by fire ants!? If you have you'll understand the protective qualities  because you dont want to go anywhere near a fire ant mound. It's also used for hexing with its firey sting. Other qualities of ants are resilience, strength and fortitude. Ants can carry 10 times their own weight. Fire ants in particular are notoriously hard to get rid of. When it floods they will band together and float to safety. All these qualities make fire ant dirt something that is highly utilized by all kinds of practitioners.
